Latest Update04/07/2018We opened 2019 on line entries early this year to make sure entries from the 2018 cancelled event transferred to the 2019 event smoothly. Entry charges for both races have remained the same for 3 years so the Committee will be reviewing registration fees when we next meet in September. Consequently we will not be considering any requests to defer to 2020 until we next meet. If fees do change, deferred entrants will be required to pay any difference. If you do need to defer to 2020 - please pm stating your name, e mail address, the year you entered and which race. We will keep a note of your request until we meet in September.30 km Race
The 30km Race is a demanding race which runs through the picturesque countryside of the Elan Valley, over one of the most scenic courses in the British Isles.
The race starts from Bryntirion Lane a short distance from the Leisure Centre in Rhayader and will take you out around the lovely Elan Valley Reservoirs and finishes in The Smithfield in Rhayader. Please Note the route is very exposed to the weather conditions, with cold weather along with rain possible on the day, please ensure you bring suitable clothing on the day. Runners have to display their race numbers on the front of their race top, failure to do so may result in disqualification. Chipped Timing will be in use for the race Cyclists must go against the flow of runners to avoid any accusations of pacing, any runner found or appearing to be assisted by anyone on a cycle or car will be automatically disqualified. No roads are closed for the event, therefore you are requested not to wear ear phones for your safety, and be able to hear marshal's instructions at all times along with traffic. Wearing of ear phones may result in disqualification. Please don't throw our empty gel packets, drink bottles or litter over the hedge / fence into the fields, please drop off any litter at a marshal point or water station. Anyone found littering will be automatically disqualified. Water Stations will provide water, Mars Bars (Mars) and Jelly Babies (Bassetts) please note we do not provide Energy Gels or Energy Drinks. Registration takes place in Rhayader Leisure Centre for the 20 mile and 5 mile races.
Registration to be completed by 12:30 for both Senior races, in the main hall of the Leisure Centre. All race numbers and timing chips will be issued on the day at registration. Please if you have any medical conditions please note all related information on the back of your race number. For the kids race, please register at Rhayader Primary School before 10:50am Race Permit Applied For.
